Rangers vs. Capitals: It’s Game 7

tortstalkcopy

It will be a Game 7 between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals tonight.

Henrik Lundqvist, coming off the 4th elimination game shutout in Rangers history and his 2nd (1st in 2008.  The others were Joe Miller [1928], and John Vanbiesbrouck [1986]), will try to carry the cold-shooting Blueshirts to the 2nd round.

History is not on their side.

Despite coming off two Game 7 home victories in the 2012 playoffs, the Rangers franchise is winless, at 0-5, in Game 7s on the road.  This game will be in Washington.

The Capitals, in their own right, have been unsuccessful at home in their history as well, at 2-6.

Recent times side with the Rangers, though – it was the Caps who fell to them in 7 during the 2nd round last year.

Will the winning continue?  We’ll know in a few hours.
