Today, flawed people judged other flawed people. Mistaken people judged other mistaken people. The greedy judged the greedy.
Judges generally have nothing at stake other than their reputation, which can easily be forgotten when the next case comes through. The judged are the ones who have to live with the consequences.
The Baseball Writers of America decided today that swift justice, no matter who got stuck in the crosswind, was acceptable when voting who would not make the Hall of Fame – and that was every player eligible for induction.
Woody Johnson and Rex Ryan finally had their “long-awaited” season ending press conference. Most reporters were out for blood, appalled at the time taken to finally reach this moment. Of course, not much could possibly be known in a time without a General Manager, whether today or last week.
So what did we actually learn today?
The Emotional Bowl:
The Colts come into this game riding the momentum of one of the greatest rookie QB seasons of all time, by Andrew Luck.
But their story all season has been about Chuckstrong; supporting their head coach Chuck Pagano, who had been fighting Cancer for most of the season.
I won’t say it. This Jets team doesn’t deserve it.
A month ago, there was no reason to believe the word should ever be uttered again.
A team that has sputtered, made terrible mistakes, encountered injury after injury, has a lemon of a foundation, and has only been consistent in being awful offensively…they should be dead in the water.
So not a chance – I won’t say the word.
