NHL’s New Canadian TV Contract Could Help The Rangers In A Big Way

Henrik Lundqvist Earns Fifth Nomination for Vezina Trophy

The NHL announced earlier today that Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist has earned his 5th Vezina Trophy nomination.

An irregular season for King Henrik, between the lockout, the Rangers offensive struggles, and constant roster and line shufflings, he still managed a 24-16-3 record, with a 2.05 goals against average and .926 save percentage.

His fellow nominees are Columbus Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky and San Jose Sharks’ Antti Niemi. Continue reading

Knicks Streak Reaches 10 Games As Carmelo Anthony Scores 90 In Last Two Games

The New York Knicks winning streak reached 10 games as the red-hot Carmelo Anthony scored 40 points – one game after scoring 50 – to defeat the Hawks in Atlanta, Wednesday, 95-82.

Ryane Clowe and The New Rangers Help Gain Revenge On The Penguins

Ryane Clowe, scoreless in every previous game this year – all with the San Jose Sharks – scored two goals tonight to help the newly-shaped Rangers defeat the suddenly wounded Penguins 6-1 at the Garden.

Clowe, brought over in a trade Tuesday night, was instant offense for the Blueshirts, also adding an assist.
